Now, after reviewing the top WooCommerce hosting companies listed above, you may be wondering which one of them is best for your online store.
To help you choose the best WooCommerce hosting for your eCommerce website, we have created a few additional resources:
- WooCommerce Hosting Quiz
- Detailed WooCommerce Hosting Performance Comparison
- Side-by-Side WooCommerce Hosting Feature Comparison
The goal is to help you choose the right hosting company because choosing the wrong provider can cost you more money and headaches in the future.
WooCommerce Hosting Quiz
We know that all this information can be quite overwhelming. Usually, we get tons of emails from our users asking for personalized recommendations on which WooCommerce hosting is suitable for their online store.
To speed this up, we have created a WooCommerce hosting recommendation engine. This questionnaire will help you decide which is the best WooCommerce hosting company based on your particular needs.
All you have to do is accurately answer the questions in the widget below:
If you still want to get personalized help in choosing a WooCommerce hosting company, then feel free to drop us a message using our contact form. One of our team members will get back to you within 24 hours.
Detailed WooCommerce Hosting Performance Comparison
The main reason why WPBeginner users trust us is because our reviews are based on actual usage, real-time tests, and accurate data.
Instead of using the information provided by hosting companies, we actually sign up for each WooCommerce hosting provider and thoroughly test their services.
We use professional third-party benchmarking tools like Pingdom, LoadImpact, and Bitcatcha. We run thorough tests for the performance and reliability of each company so we can help you choose the best WooCommerce hosting for your business.
For accurate testing across all WooCommerce hosting companies, we create a sample website for each hosting provider. After that, we install a default theme and fill the site with dummy data, including images and media. This way our tests resemble an average website.
Here is our step-by-step testing process:
First, we use Pingdom, an industry-leading website speed test service, to measure our sample website speed across multiple WooCommerce hosting companies.
Next, we use a load impact service (k6 by Grafana Labs) to send virtual users (VU) to each website to see how the hosting server would handle increased requests from multiple connections at once. This helps us see how the individual WooCommerce hosting company would perform during peak traffic.
Lastly, we use the Bitcatcha service to test server response times across numerous geographical locations, including the United States, London, Singapore, Sao Paulo, India, Sydney, and Japan. This helps us decide which WooCommerce hosting is best for which geographical location.
Now that you know our test process, let’s compare the performance of the best WooCommerce hosting companies.
1. SiteGround
SiteGround is one of the top-rated hosting companies in the WooCommerce community. They provide unique in-house performance optimization and security, which is why they are an officially recommended WooCommerce hosting provider.
SiteGround uses Google Cloud to power its hosting infrastructure, which means maximum reliability. This is why we use SiteGround ourselves to host the WPBeginner website.
Here are the results from our SiteGround performance tests:
As you can see in the test result, our SiteGround test site loaded in less than a second (397ms, to be precise) for a server in Dallas, Texas. Our test site is faster than 95% of tested sites, which is incredible.
After that, we ran the stress test on SiteGround servers. We gradually built up to 50 unique visitors at once to see how the server would handle increased requests from multiple connections at once.
In this chart, The gray line is the number of active virtual users on the site, and the green line is the server response time. SiteGround performed consistently throughout the test.
Next, we ran a response time test. We used Bitcatcha to test more accurate server response times from various geographical locations.
Our SiteGround test site performed really well in the United States, and the response time was less than a second for all other locations.
In our detailed SiteGround review, we also evaluated their customer support, features, and pricing.
After our analysis, we find SiteGround to be a great option for WooCommerce hosting for startups because their support is incredibly helpful.
- PROS: Best WordPress support team, good uptime, fast speed, and free SSL.
- PROS: Free Site Migration
- PROS: Managed WooCommerce hosting powered by the Google Cloud platform with automatic backups (daily) and enhanced security firewall.
- PROS: Comes pre-installed with WooCommerce plugin, and also includes access to powerful SEO ranking tool like AIOSEO and other helpful plugins such as WPForms, and OptinMonster.
- CONS: No free domain, and GoGeek Plan is slightly expensive
For the best WooCommerce store performance and speed, we recommend using either their GrowBig or GoGeek plan because both of those come with Ultrafast PHP, which delivers 30% faster TTFB (time to first byte). You also get more SSD storage on these plans.
You can use WPBeginner’s exclusive SiteGround coupon to save over 80% off SiteGround WooCommerce hosting.
2. Hostinger
Hostinger is a fast-growing WordPress hosting company because they offer cheap WordPress hosting with a robust platform and 24/7 support via live chat.
Basically, you can start your WooCommerce site for as low as $2.69 a month, but what’s more impressive is the speed of their platform.
Here are the results from our Hostinger hosting performance tests:
As you can see, our test site loaded in less than a second, which is amazing. However, this test alone does not show the full picture because the test site does not have any traffic.
So, we used stress testing to see how Hostinger hosting servers would perform during peak traffic hours by sending virtual visitors.
We gradually built up the traffic to over 50 unique visitors at once to see how their server would handle increased requests from multiple simultaneous connections at once. You can see the stress test results below:
In this graph, the green line represents the request response time, and the gray line indicates the number of virtual users on the site.
As you can see, Hostinger performed extremely well on this test. As we increased users, the response time remained excellent throughout the test.
What this means is that if you have a small online store or a growing blog, your website can easily handle sudden traffic spikes.
After the stress test, we used Bitcatcha to test Hostinger server response time from various geographical locations.
Our test results showed that Hostinger servers responded in under a second for all locations. The response times were great across the board, particularly in Europe and North America.
This makes sense because Hostinger provides a selection of seven data centers across various regions, including the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America, ensuring broad geographic coverage.
If most of your customers are located in North America, Europe, Asia, or South America, then Hostinger is a great choice for your business.
It’s important to note that we ran our speed test on their lower plans, and we believe the loading speed would probably be much faster on their Business WordPress plan, which includes more server resources.
In our detailed Hostinger review, we also evaluated their customer service, features, and pricing.
After our analysis, we find Hostinger Hosting to be a great option for small businesses that value fast and cheap WordPress hosting. Their plans grow as your business grows, but they make it really affordable to get started.
- PROS: Fast speed, free domain, free SSL, and free email.
- PROS: Cheap WordPress/ WooCommerce plans start at $2.69 / month and include 50 GB of SSD hosting space.
- PROS: 30-day money-back guarantee
- PROS: WordPress acceleration and managed auto-updates built-in
- PROS: Ability to choose from multiple datacenter locations (in North America, Europe, Asia, and South America).
- PROS: Includes free access for powerful SEO tools like AIOSEO as well as other marketing tools like WPForms, OptinMonster, and MonsterInsights.

3. WP Engine
WP Engine is one of the most popular managed WordPress and WooCommerce hosting provider. They offer in-house performance optimization, managed updates, 1-click staging environment, automatic backups, and more.
Their managed WooCommerce hosting plans include increased caching for Woo, premium eCommerce themes & blocks, and improved product search to drive sales. If you’re running a large WooCommerce store, then they can even set up enterprise-grade Amazon cloud hosting (on the AWS platform) for faster hosting.
For our performance test, we use the standard WP Engine account since you can use that to start your WooCommerce store.
Here are the results from our WP Engine performance tests:
As you can see, our test site loaded in less than a second for a server in New York City, NY. Considering that we didn’t need to install any performance optimization, this result is quite good.
But how does WP Engine perform under traffic?
We ran the stress test on the WP Engine server, gradually building up to 50 unique visitors at once to see how the server would handle increased requests from multiple connections.
The green line represents response time, and the gray line represents the number of users on the site. As you can see, our test site performed really well with minor spikes. It maintained an incredible response rate throughout the test.
After the stress test, we used Bitcatcha to test more accurate server response times from various geographical locations.
As you can see in the results, the WP Engine server response time remained less than half a second in all geographic locations. It was particularly great in the United States.
In our detailed WP Engine review, we also evaluated their customer support, features, and pricing. After our analysis, we find WP Engine to be the best option for managed WordPress and WooCommerce hosting.
- PROS: Optimized for WordPress and WooCommerce with a stable managed hosting platform
- PROS: 1-click staging environment, free SSL, and integrated support to add CDN service
- PROS: Free migration for your website, 10 premium themes, and daily backups
- PROS: Excellent customer support and a custom hosting control panel
- CONS: Prices are slightly higher for a starter WooCommerce store, but totally worth the $$$.
You can use WPBeginner’s exclusive WP Engine coupon to save additional 20% off + 2 months free (basically you get 4 months free).
4. Bluehost
Bluehost Bluehost is one of the largest hosting companies in the world and an officially recommended WooCommerce hosting provider.
Here are the results from our Bluehost performance tests:
As you can see in the screenshot above, our test site loaded in nearly one second. Considering that the test site wasn’t using any caching plugins or performance optimization tips, this result is very good.
Next, we ran the stress test on Bluehost site. We gradually built up to 50 unique visitors at once to see how the server would handle increased requests from multiple connections at once.
Here is the result screenshot:
In this chart, the gray line is the number of active virtual users on the site, and the green line is the server response time. As you can see, the server load remained stable throughout the test, even at peak traffic.
In the next phase, we used Bitcatcha to test server response time more accurately from different geographical locations.
Response times for our Bluehost test site were exceptionally great in the United States, loading under a fraction of a second. Response time in other locations was a bit higher but still under less than a second.
If your target customers are in the United States, then this would hugely benefit your WooCommerce store.
We also evaluated their customer support, features, and pricing in our detailed Bluehost review. After this thorough analysis, we believe that Bluehost is a great WooCommerce hosting provider to start your online store.
- PROS: 60% off WooCommerce hosting + Free Domain + Free SSL
- PROS: Officially recommended by WooCommerce and WordPress
- PROS: Ecommerce plans come with WooCommerce installation with Storefront theme
- PROS: WooCommerce site on Bluehost also includes Jetpack daily backups, WooCommerce addons like subscriptions, gift cards, product search, and more
- CONS: Sometimes support can be slow
- CONS: Pricing is high for shared hosting, and renewals are much higher
You can use our exclusive Bluehost coupon to save over 60% off and get a free domain.
5. DreamHost
DreamHost has been around since 1997 and is known for reliable web hosting. They offer a one-click install for WordPress, free domains, and free SSL, and they are also an official WordPress.org recommended hosting provider.
Here are the results from our DreamHost performance tests:
As you can see, our test site loaded in less than a second for a server in New York City. That’s fair, considering we didn’t use any caching or performance optimization.
Next, we ran the stress test on DreamHost servers to see how it would perform during peak traffic hours. We gradually built up to 50 unique visitors at once to see how the server would handle increased requests from multiple connections at once.
Here is the result screenshot:
The green line represents the page response time, and the gray line represents the number of requests on the site.
As you can see, our site remained available throughout the test. However, the response time fluctuated with users increased.
That’s because we turned off DreamHost’s pre-installed WordPress caching solution. Once we enabled a caching plugin, the stress test result improved significantly.
Here is the screenshot of the test result with caching.
The test with caching was able to handle traffic spikes with excellent response time.
After that, we used Bitcatcha to test their server response time from various geographical locations.
The DreamHost server performed well in the U.S., loading under a fraction of a second, and the response time was pretty good across the world.
Overall, DreamHost is a great host for websites in any geographical location.
In our detailed DreamHost review, we also evaluated their customer support, features, and pricing. After our analysis, we found that DreamHost delivers superior website performance thanks to their fast SSD storage and optimization features.
DreamHost is a great option for businesses that value privacy. They offer free domain privacy with each domain. They also recently fought the U.S. Department of Justice to protect the privacy of one of their customers’ websites.
- PROS: Good speed, free SSL, free domain with privacy protection, and 1-click WordPress install.
- PROS: Free automated WordPress migration included
- PROS: Includes access to powerful SEO tools like AIOSEO and other WordPress growth tools like WPForms, and more.
- CONS: The hosting control panel is a bit outdated.
You can use our Dreamhost coupon to get over 72% off WooCommerce hosting and get a free domain.
6. HostGator
HostGator is one of the top web hosting companies. They host over 8 million domains. We used to use HostGator in the early days, but as our website grew we switched to SiteGround. Their platform is great for those who’re starting out.
Here are the results from our HostGator performance tests:
As you can see in the screenshot, our test site loaded in less than a second. That’s faster than 94% of all tested sites. Considering that our test site wasn’t using any caching plugins or performance optimization tips, this result is great.
Next, we wanted to test how HostGator performs during peak traffic.
We ran the load impact test on HostGator servers. We gradually built up to 50 unique visitors at once to see how the server would handle increased requests from multiple connections at once.
The green line in the chart shows page response time, and the gray line shows the number of users on the site. Our test site performed really well throughout the test, with an average response time of 126 milliseconds.
These results are particularly good for a shared hosting account because you are sharing server resources with other sites hosted on the same server. As your site grows, you need to move up to VPS hosting or even managed WordPress hosting.
Next, we tested the server response time from different geographic locations. We used Bitcatcha to test more accurate server response time.
As you can see, our test site responded in less than a second for all locations. In the United States, the response time was merely 26 ms.
We also evaluated HostGator’s customer service, pricing, and features in our detailed HostGator review.
- PROS: Fast and reliable with good support
- PROS: Free Domain and Free SSL included for WooCommerce stores
- PROS: Free Site Migration
- CONS: Renewal fees are higher
Use the HostGator coupon: “wpbeginner” when checking out, and you will get the best HostGator price.

WooCommerce Hosting FAQs
Having helped thousands of users, we have heard just about every hosting question. Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about WooCommerce hosting:
Do I need WooCommerce hosting to start an online store?
If you are building an online store with WooCommerce, then you’ll need WooCommerce hosting. Hosting is the place where all your website’s files are stored. Every website and online store uses a hosting provider.
Can I install WooCommerce on my shared WordPress hosting account?
Yes, you can. However, shared WordPress hosting plans are designed to cater to the needs of small businesses and personal websites. WooCommerce is a transactional app that needs more resources particularly when you have more than a hundred customers on your website. This is why you need a WooCommerce hosting plan so that you can run your online store without any downtime and at faster speeds.
Are there any free WooCommerce hosting providers?
No there are no free WooCommerce hosting providers that we are aware of. Even if you find a free web hosting company, we strongly recommend that you stay away from them. In most cases, free hosting providers put advertisements on your website. They may even distribute malware to your customers. Last but not least, they can shut down your website at any time without any notification. Avoid anyone who offers to give you free hosting, especially if you are serious about your site.
How much does it cost to build an online store with WooCommerce?
The total cost of your WooCommerce store is calculated based on hosting costs, domain name, and SSL certificate. The cost of maintaining your online store grows as your business grows. We have created a detailed guide on how much it costs to build an eCommerce WordPress website.
We have shared tips on how to get powerful functionality like page builders, payment gateways, and other WooCommerce features for free or low cost, so you can grow your store without a huge investment.
I already purchased a domain. Can I use it with my WooCommerce hosting?
Yes, you can. Once you purchase a domain name, you are free to use it with any hosting company. All you need to do is go to your domain settings and point its DNS to your WooCommerce hosting company. Each of our top WooCommerce hosting companies has step-by-step instructions on how to do that. See our guide on the difference between a domain name and web hosting.
Do I need to buy domain and WooCommerce hosting from the same company?
No, you don’t. You can buy a domain name from one company and WooCommerce hosting from another. However, it does help to get them from the same company, as you will not have to change DNS settings, and you will be able to manage your domain and hosting under the same dashboard.
Do I need to buy any addons when signing up for WooCommerce hosting?
During the signup process, some hosting companies will offer to sell you add-on services like Cloudflare CDN, Sitelock security, etc. You can safely uncheck them as they would add to the cost of your hosting bill.
Later on, if you feel you need one of these add-on services, then you can simply add them to your hosting plan from your account dashboard.
How many customers can these WooCommerce hosting companies handle?
All hosting companies in our best WooCommerce hosting list handle millions of pageviews every day. They are all equipped to handle smaller stores as well as large online stores, even during peak holiday shopping traffic.
The traffic your site can handle largely depends on the plan you choose. With shared WooCommerce hosting providers like SiteGround, Hostinger, and Bluehost, your website will be able to handle 1,000 – 10,000 visitors a day with speed optimization.
With managed WooCommerce hosting options like WP Engine, you should be able to handle as much traffic as you need because their team would automatically scale your account as needed.
Do WooCommerce hosting companies keep backups of my site?
Yes, many of them do. However, we don’t recommend relying on your hosting company’s backups. You must always create your own backups by using a WordPress backup plugin.
Can I change my WooCommerce hosting later?
Yes, you can totally change your WooCommerce hosting company if you are unhappy with them. Most hosting companies offer migration services that you can utilize with minimum downtime. You can also move your website on your own, see our guide on how to move a WordPress site to new host.
Do I need a WooCommerce hosting with cPanel?
cPanel is a type of control panel that used to be popular with WooCommerce hosting companies. However as cPanel prices increased, most hosting companies have shifted away from it. You do not need cPanel for WooCommerce hosting, and most hosting companies have built better control panels with advanced features like SiteGround and WP Engine.
If you’re looking for a WooCommerce hosting with cPanel, then we recommend checking out GreenGeeks.
Which is the best WooCommerce dedicated server hosting?
If you’re running a large WooCommerce store, then you have two options: use a dedicated server or switch to a managed WooCommerce cloud hosting.
The best WooCommerce dedicated server hosting is SiteGround and Dreamhost.
If you’re looking for managed WooCommerce cloud hosting, then we recommend using WP Engine.
Can WooCommerce handle 100,000 products?
Yes, with the right WooCommerce hosting provider, your WooCommerce store can easily handle 50,000 to 100,000+ products while handling thousands of transactions per minute.
Are there other WooCommerce hosting providers that are not listed here?
Yes, there are literally thousands of WooCommerce hosting solutions out there, and we simply can’t list them all here because that would create more confusion and cause choice paralysis for non-techy readers.
We have tried every major WordPress hosting company on the market including many that are not in our list above such as: Flywheel, Kinsta, Cloudways, GoDaddy, LiquidWeb (Nexcess), InMotion Hosting, A2 hosting, iPage, Site5, Arvixe, Pantheon, GreenGeeks, JustHost, HostPapa, NameCheap, WordPress.com, and more.
The top WooCommerce hosting providers that we have chosen to include in our list provide the best features for the best price.
What are the best WooCommerce hosting companies in your opinion?
Our three top choices for WooCommerce hosting are:
- SiteGround – Overall best WooCommerce hosting for growing businesses (use the GoGeek plan).
- Hostinger – Best value hosting for WooCommerce with extremely affordable plans.
- WP Engine – Best for large eCommerce sites that need top-notch performance, support, and scalability.
This last question is not by mistake. We still get this question even when we refer users to this guide.
We hope that this guide helped you find the best WooCommerce hosting for your online store. If you have a WooCommerce hosting question that we didn’t cover, then please send us a message using our contact form. One of our team members will respond back within 24 hours.

While majority of these ecommerce hosting are good and offer great features together with a free domain for a year, the problem is the renewal fee is higher sometimes hardly affordable for start-up.
I saw some from Bluehost recently, the price of the basic plan is the same at renewal. I’m I right ?
WPBeginner Support says
Most hosting providers offer a starting price to make getting started easier that would not be the same when renewing.
